caroline's closet july review

The summer is almost over!  Back to school shopping is going on, although I have not yet started.  My oldest daughter is turning eight this week and getting baptized at church next week.  My 15th anniversary is also next week.  Another kid birthday at the end of the month.  There is so much going on that might brain is flitting from one thing to another.  I am looking forward to school starting just for the structure of the schedule, less junk food, more exercising and going to bed at a decent hour.  It's been a great summer though.  They always end too soon.

Summer in San Antonio you stay indoors a lot.  It's been over 100 degrees everyday for forever.  My grass is dying and I'm hoping the air conditioner will hold out until it cools down.   So I wear little sweaters, cause I get cold.  Crazy, I know.
Sunglasses: twinkleworld $1(Did I mention I got lasik last month?  Fabulousness, but my eyes are a little light sensitive), sweater: target $15, cami: downeast basics, capris: american eagle $3.50 (thrifted), sandals: walmart $10.

Running errands:
Sweater: target $15, earrings: birthday gift from Elizabeth, cami: downeast basics, capris: seven $9 (thrifted), shoes: $7(thifted).

Doctor's appointment.  My photo bombers are unhappy.
Blouse: target $4 (thrifted), gold skinnies: target $10 clearance, earrings: twinkle world: $1, shoes: mossimo $6 (thrifted).

Church.  My 10 yr old photographer posed me, blech.  And I NEED a haircut.  Here's proof it's BAD.
Headband: too old to remember, earrings: another year, another birthday gift from Elizabeth's shop.  Dress: $2.50 (thrifted), necklace: twinkle world $1 and refurbed by me.

Close up of the necklace.
Put on some make-up before you take pictures girl!  Next time, maybe. Did you know you can't wear eye makeup for two weeks after LASIK?

I need to clean out my closet.  I have too many things I'm not wearing in there and it's driving me nuts.  I need to alter several things too.  Like the dress above.  The sleeves are a weird length for a on me.

Do you ever alter your own clothes?  What are your go-to pieces you wear over and over?

  1. I love those cute rose earnings :-)

    1. Me too! That's the best part about your sister having a jewelry store ;)

She has some in her shop if you're interested!

  2. I alter 75% of my clothes, not much seems to fit well off the rack. If only I were a millionaire and could have all my clothes custom made, lol! You look lovely in all your outfits, I particularly liked the aqua sweater.

    1. Sorry Sandy, blogger has eaten my response twice. :( I hear you on the custom made! I have narrow shoulders and have to take in at least half my blouses. Lame-o.

Thank you for the sweet compliment! The sweater is one of my favorites. I was almost too cheap to buy it, but my four year old convinced me I needed it. :)

Tell us what you think! We'd love to hear from you!
