Normally, I put up my favorite wreath (yellow forsythia) and call it good but this year I felt like it needed a little bit more. It just didn't feel Easter-ish. So, I've been pinning cute easter wreaths for the last few weeks for ideas. I really didn't want to spend any money. I decided to just add onto my favorite wreath with stuff I had already.
I love a quick project. This one took just 15 minutes. It took just as long to gather the supplies, as it did to actually put it together. I used my pennant punch, a gold sharpie and some bakers twine to make the banner. The paper was from my scraps bin. I am a paper and fabric hoarder. :)
My mom had mentioned that she wanted to add a little bunny to her yellow forsythia wreath when we visited her weekend before last on my kid's spring break. I thought it was a great idea. ;) This little bunny was from my Easter decor box. It was bought on clearance, and was green. So, I gave it a quick white wash with craft paint and hooked on to the bottom of the wreath.
I can just untie the banner and pull out the bunny after Easter and still be set for spring. Now I just need to makeover the rest of my porch. The polka dot chairs I bought a couple of years ago are looking faded from the sun and a little rusty. Nothing a little spray paint and outdoor fabric can't fix. We also need a new porch light and to paint the chippy floor. I don't ever have any trouble coming up with a Saturday chore list for me and one for the hubs too.
I love a free makeover, don't you?
