I tried to put out a little easter decor this past weekend. Can you believe it's less than two weeks away? I just decorated in a few key areas (vignettes, if you will) so it feels festive but not overbearing, since I've been feeling like I'm drowning in stuff around here.
One of the things that does that is pillows on my entry way bench. One of the easiest ways to make a cheap, fast and easy pillow is using a cute holiday placemat or napkin. They aren't easily breakable (although my kids seem to be able to ruin ANYTHING lately) are fairly inexpensive and cushion the breakables in the Easter storage box. Win/win all the way around!
I was feeling lazy this time and used a bandana from hobby lobby on the back, 1) because I already had it, 2) it was the right colors to match my placemat that I scored on clearance after Easter from target a few years ago and 3) it was already hemmed on two sides so I could sew I right on and not have to try to turn it inside out. 5 minute sewing project anyone? ;)
I threw it out there with a clearance bunny pillow from hobby lobby and my Easter egg trees and called it good. Entry way decorated! And it made these kiddos happy:
