So, I usually put out my Halloween decorations on October 1st because I'm excited about the holiday. But I force myself to wait until October 1st (and not September 1st like I REALLY want to) because I know that if I get the stuff out too early, I'll be sick of the holiday stuff long before the holiday arrives. And yes, for those of you wondering, I'm ready to tear down our Christmas stuff the day after, I can only handle about a month of any given holiday decor.
The trick or treat one looked almost perfect to me. One problem: it wasn't the right colors. It was black, white, gold and brown. And no orange. For my house, I love the traditional Halloween orange and black with some white for contrast. Clearly the banner needed a little makeover.
I love to paint. It relaxes me. And I was so excited to paint, that I forgot to take a before shot. So instead, this is me in the middle of painting.
And here is the after:
I restrung the banner with sone black tulle. Now my entry is ready for some spookiness.
Now if I can just get all our Halloween costumes done this week, I'll have it made in the shade.
OCD like me and decorate in traditional holiday colors, or do you just use whatever you like?
